Lay Leadership Lay Leaders Herbert Boone and Phyllis Boone are the primary lay representatives of the laity (i.e. non-clergy) of Centreville United Methodist Church, fulfilling the role of Lay Member to the Conference. They seek to foster awareness of the role of laity within the congregation and through their ministries in the home, workplace, community and world. They meet regularly with the Pastor to discuss the state of the church and needs for the ministry. They are members of the Church Council, the Staff Pastor Parish Relations Committee and Finance Committee. They assist in the conduct of worship services and manage the lay reader program.
