Ink Cartridges & Cell Phones Collected By Our MYF

Do you have empty ink cartridges around your house? Old cell phones too?

Don't know what to do with them?

Well - bring them to the church and donate them to the youth missions team. Collection buckets are located throughout the church. All types of ink cartridges are wanted. Cell phones cannot be broken - they must be able to be re-activated. We will be collecting them from now on! Thank You! This will be done in place of recycling aluminum cans...that is no longer profitable.

Backpacks for Kids

Beginning the week of October 12th, CUMC will provide weekend backpacks for two meals per day for 20 students at Kennard Elementary School. The backpacks will be packed up on Thursdays, sent home with the children on Fridays, and returned empty for refilling on the following Monday. Two or three people are needed per week to fill the backpacks.  We would like to have 4-5 teams to rotate weeks. In addition, sign-up sheets for food items will be posted on the bulletin board in the hallway.

There are shelves in the closet near the Fellowship Hall where donations can be left for our weekly food Backpack Program. We have found it to cost about $5 per child per week for 4 meals on the weekends. Donations of food or money are needed! We would like healthy foods such as 100% Juice packs, pop tarts, applesauce or other fruit packs, instant oatmeal, cereal bars, cans of spaghetti or noodles and beef, cheese crackers packages, etc.

If you would like to be on a team, please e-mail Cheryl Vorhauer at crv5@verizon.net, or call (410) 758-4501. Thank you for participating in this important mission.
