Centreville United Methodist Church Music Ministries

Chancel Choir: Provides a wide variety of the standard (and not so standard) choral music for CUMC’s Traditional Worship. Rehearsals are held on Thursday evenings at 8:00pm with ages of the group ranging from youth to adult. Musical Literacy is not a necessity but a great attitude and willingness to function as a cheerful member of the group are a must! The Chancel Choir is led by Nancy Cook.

Youth Praise Band: This group of approximately 8 to 10 youths meets on Sunday afternoons at 4:00 in work on music that is specifically Praise oriented. The Band consists of all the instruments you’d expect to find in a “Rock” Combo as well as singers. This group leads our Sunday morning Praise Service once a month.

Praise Band: The Praise Band generally leads our upbeat Sunday morning Praise Service. Rehearsals are held every Wednesday evening at 7:00pm. We cordially extend an open invitation to all who are interested in the musical, technical, and worship leading aspects of the Praise Service.

The Youth Praise Band

The Tintinnabulators: The Tintinnabulators are our intergenerational Handbell Choir that meets every Thursday at 7:00pm in the CUMC sanctuary. This group generally plays once a month. All persons, age 16 or older, who have had experience in ringing Handbells are invited to participate.

We are currently seeking assistance with our Music Program and are looking for volunteers. Those interested should contact the Church Office at 410-758-0868 or by e-mail at: music@centreville-umc.com .
